    S-Shape Airlock

    125 in stock

The S-Shape Airlock is a good choice for containers between 1 and 5 gallons in volume or when a slow fermentation is expected on larger batches. With this particular air lock you can detect even extremely slow fermentations on larger batches. This air lock is great for both wine and beer brewing; just fill it approximately half way with water and let the water act as an environmental barrier to keep bugs and other unwanted materials out of your batch while still allowing gasses to escape the fermentation.

STAR SAN is a blend of phosphoric acid and dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid. This synergistic blend provides a unique killing system that is unaffected by excessive organic soils. STAR SAN is also a self-foaming sanitizer. It can be applied through a foamer to produce self-adhering sanitizing foam for external sanitation. STAR SAN is also an excellent sanitizer for hand application. Sanitizing with STAR SAN on a daily basis will leave equipment in an acid condition that will eliminate water spotting. It is not recommended to use STAR SAN on soft metals because of the acid nature of this product. Note: This product can only ship via ground transportation.MSDSTechnical Sheet

    Lalvin 71B Wine Yeast

    124 in stock

Lalvin 71B has been isolated and selected by INRA Narbonne (France), for its ability to produce a high level of esters (isoamyl ester), allowing it to reinforce the aromatic profile of wines fermented from neutral varieties. Lalvin 71B has the capacity to absorb polyphenolic compounds on its cellular wall which limits tannin structure of young and fresh red wine. Grape must inoculated with Lalvin 71B will easily go through malolactic fermentation, as 20-40% of malic acid can be metabolized by this yeast strain during primary fermentation. • Fermaid K

    Fermaid K

    54 in stock

Fermaid® K is a blended complex yeast nutrient that supplies ammonia salts (DAP), free amino acids (organic nitrogen derived from inactivated yeast), sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, key nutrients (magnesium sulfate, thiamin, folic acid, niacin, biotin, calcium pantothenate) and inactive yeast. For best results, Fermaid K should be used in conjunction with an appropriate yeast rehydration nutrient (such as Go-Ferm or Go-Ferm Protect) to assure proper nutrition of cultured yeast from rehydration through completed fermentation. Add 25 g/hL at 1/3 sugar depletion or in two doses; 12.5 g/hL at the end of lag phase and 12.5 g/hL at 1/3 sugar depletion.Fermaid K provides unsaturated fatty acids and sterols. These are important survival factors needed to maintain alcohol resistance and permease activity. They also help keep volatile acidity levels low.Nitrogen is needed for protein synthesis and to maintain cellular growth. Nitrogen from the alpha amino acids contained in Fermaid K is utilized much more efficiently than from the ammonia salts. The cell wall fractions in Fermaid K absorb short and medium chain fatty acids that are toxic to the yeast. They also provide nucleation sites to help keep the yeast in suspension. To UseFermaid K should be mixed with room temperature water before adding to an active fermentation to avoid CO2 release and overflowing of tanks or barrels. The amount of water used is not critical. Simply add enough to make a slurry.StorageDated expiration. Store at 18°C(65°F). Once opened, keep tightly sealed and dry.Recommended Dosage1 g/gal    25 g/hL 2 lb/1000 gal

  • Lalvin ICV D-47 Wine Yeast Lalvin ICV D-47 Wine Yeast

    Lalvin ICV D-47 Wine Yeast

    163 in stock

Lalvin D47 has been isolated in France in the Côtes-du-Rhône area by the ICV (Institut Coopératif du Vin) to produce full-bodied barrel-fermented Chardonnay and other white varietal grapes. Due to the release of polysaccharides into the must during fermentation, this yeast contributes to a round, soft palate with good weight. This process can also help to stabilize aromatic compounds. Lalvin D47 is highly recommended to produce premium, barrel fermented Chardonnay. When left on lees, spicy, tropical and citrus notes will develop and the wine is then said to have a silky persistence. This strain is very compatible with malolactic-bacteria. GRAPE VARIETY PAIRING:  Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier. WINE STYLES:  Complex white and Rosé wines with citrus and floral notes. Useful for a wide range of applications, including mead and fruit cider fermentations. AROMA:  Tropical fruit and banana flavor. Breeding/Development: Germany. The signature landrace variety of the Hallertau region in Bavaria, Hallertau Mittelfrüh is, at least to some, the epitome of noble hops. Brewing Application: Aroma. Although it can be and is used throughout the boil, it is most prized for its fine, elegant aroma and flavor contribution. Sensory: Complex, but mild and approachable. A mixture of sweet, earthy, and herbal with vivid impressions of new-mown hay, sweet spices, and dried flowers. Its many offshoots and daughters show some of these same qualities, but none have the same range and balance as Mittelfrüh.   Hop Size 1 oz Alpha Acid Range % 3.0-5.5 Beta Acid Range % 3.0-5.0 Co-Humulone as % of Alpha 18-28 Total Oil mL/100 g 0.7-1.3 To preserve freshness, all are packaged in nitrogen-flushed, oxygen and light-barrier packages.
